Steam Traps (also known as TD traps in the industry) will provide some simple
tips on how to test and confirm that this sort of trap is working properly.
This type of trap contains a rotating disc that raises when condensate is
present, allowing condensate to pass through the trap. When all of the
condensate has been removed, steam will reach the trap, where it will travel
through the disc and exert pressure on the top of the disc, forcing it to
close. The trap will now close, preventing any liquids from passing through.
Steam will begin to condense upstream
of the trap while it is closed, causing condensate to collect. The steam that
was pressurising the disc will condense after a few minutes (this period can
vary depending on operating parameters), and condensate from upstream the trap
will push the disc back through the trap. We supply our superior quality
