transfer latent heat from one product to another (e.g., heating crude oil to
decrease viscosity). The steam condenses and becomes condensate once the latent
heat or energy from the steam has been transferred to the product. The system's
efficiency will deteriorate if this condensate is not efficiently eliminated
from the process.
A steam trap removes condensate and noncondensables
from a system without eliminating steam. Throttling conventional valves
manually to enable only the condensate to escape is wasteful and
time-consuming. Manual valves must be changed on a regular basis to account for
changing steam loads and the external environment; as a result, the danger of
steam loss is substantially higher. A solution is to use steam traps. We
